  1. …as a kid in the 80s the cars represented my calling to new wave… Rick has reunited with his bandmate Ben in heaven.

  2. My heart is broken. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

    Since you're gone
    The nights are gettin' strange
    Since you're gone
    Well, nothing's makin' any sense

You will always and all ways be in our hearts. ๐Ÿ˜ข

  3. Nooooooooooo! I got doubles of albums. They're all i hope for overhead at my retail job. Moments of joy umongst drudgery. What will listen to Right now?

  4. This is why I go to every classic rock show you Never know it might be the lastime you see them. I wish I saw the Cars live and Ric RIP

  5. It's inevitable for all. We are all here on Borrowed Time . He lived for 75-Years so at least he had a decent long life. Sounds perhaps he died of a Broken heart. I see this happen to many after one partner wants out of the relationship while the other is still deeply connected. My close Friend literally Drank him self to death in two years after chis long time partner want out.. He died Broken hearten. It suck and is always sad to see. When you have been with a partner for 20-Plus years, its very tough for some men and Women to get back out there and start over. Some people are wired to have a partner for life, While others can seem to get by on there own. I know id be devastated if my wife left me. I depend on her love and support in many ways, Just as she does from me. We have been together for nearly 30 years two children. The thought of starting over at 57- totally sucks. This is why date nights so important to always support and let your partner know they are loved ,respected and needed. We all get complacent , forget to have special time together what ever this entails , Date nights, Day hikes what ever, just spend that additional time together.

  6. I'm still trying to get over Eddie Money's death, and now this? Damn, man. So many of the artists I listened to growing up in the 80s are dropping like flies over the last 10 years. It's insane. RIP Ric. You now reunite with your old buddy and fellow departed bandmate, Ben Orr. I hope you both are blending in well musically with all the other artists from the 70s and 80s that aren't here with us any longer.

  7. First Eddie Money and now Ric…damn brutal blows for any 80's fans. The Cars were my very fave band from the 80's. I wore out their debut album. First Ben and now Ric…well you know they're in heaven making up one hell of a band with others that have gone before them. RIP Ric…your music has been brightening my life for years.

  8. It was hard enough losing Ben so early. Now with Ric passing on, the voice of the Cars has truly gone silent. Rest in peace brother. Thank you for the creative & inspirational music you and your bandmates gave us to enjoy. Wow, I still canโ€™t believe this…

  9. Another one of my icons from the 1980s gone..Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, George Michael, Prince, now Ric Ocasek!!

  10. Had the opportunity to organize concerts with the Cars in Europe, nice people, great band and we will miss you Rik! R.I.P.

  11. Geez my radio woke me up this morning and this was the first thing I heard talk about a rude awaking! I thought I was still asleep having a bad dream.

  12. Major bummer The Cars were a great band while they were active. Drive a fav of mine to listen to you guessed it DRIVING IN MY CAR. RIP Ric thanks for helping fuel my youth!

  13. Man, so sad. The Cars were the soundtrack to my high school years. Best friend girl, Good times roll, Candy-o, Nightspots, Dangerous type, Lets Go, Since you're gone… the list goes on and on. The first two albums didn't have a bad song on them. The next two were mostly great. Few bands can brag of such incredible output and what a sound. all the other bands wanted to sound like them. Ben Orr also had one of the best voices in Rock and Roll. RIP Ric and Ben.

  14. Prayers an RIP: Growing up in Southern New England in th late 1970s and early '80s, The Cars were so wow! But 1978 to 2019, more than 40 years, seems like the blink of an eye. And yet it was 19 years ago that Benjamin Orr, who sang led on most of The Cars songs, was lost to pancreatic cancer. And now Ric Ocasek. How prophetic that The Cars were finally inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year for Ric Ocasek to see all those years realized with such an honor. For lead guitarist Elliot Easton, drummer David Robinson and synth spciialist Greg Hawkes, your loyal fans share in your mourning…

  15. I feel a little bit older today. I remember blasting the Cars out of my Jensen coaxials driving to school. Rest in peace with your brother Benjamin.

  16. RIP ric ocasek. Frontman for one of my favorite bands from the 80s. This was great music from back in the day! Nothing like the crap you hear on the radio today! First Eddie money and now him! How much more can we endure????๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ
