SABATON – To Hell And Back (OFFICIAL LYRIC VIDEO)

  1. My grand dad was a WW2 vet in the Navy. Never spoke about but he's gone now. I fell like if our country ever feel under attack he'd come back to kick my ass out the door and toss me a gun ROFL!

  2. Letras em português – BR:

    Um homem baixo do Texas,
um homem selvagem Lançado em combate,
    onde corpos se acumulam

    Combate suas emoções,
    seu sangue está frio,
    assim como suas vitórias,
    sua história se desenrola

    [Bridge]
    Brilhante, uma luz branca
Se houvesse, qualquer glória na guerra
Deixe descansar, em homens como ele

(Homens mortos nunca mais voltarão ..)

    [Chorus]

  3. I don't think anything is better than playing hoi4 and annexing the USSR as Germany with this song blasting my eardrums out.

  4. "People constanly compare war to hell, they are wrong. Hell is hell and war is war. In hell only the guilty burn, in hell everyone is caught in the flames. And out of the two of them war is worse."

  5. I am Turkish, but for the German Soldiers that fought in WW2 i have much Respect. They was not many, but fight so many. It needed the Half Planet to stop them. Sure, it was not good, sure it was a Catastrophic Time, Sure Hitler was a Asshole. But the Job that the German Soldiers did was really Respectfull. The KZ and all is a absolutly Horror and we dont need to talk about that SHAMED PART of the WW2. We all know

  6. Is this song in reference to Audie Murphy?

Born in Texas and acted in the movie of his own life called "To Hell and Back". Crazy what that man did and he was the most decorated U.S. soldier of WW2

  7. I like the whistling and (what sounds like a synthetic jaw harp?). The western theme seems to reflect Audie Murphy's time as a rancher in Arizona.

  8. THE CROSSES GROW ON ANZIO

Oh, gather 'round me, comrades; and

    listen while I speak

Of a war, a war, a war where hell is

    six feet deep.

Along the shore, the cannons roar. Oh

    how can a soldier sleep?

The going's slow on Anzio. And hell is

    six feet deep.

Praise be to God for this captured sod that

    rich with blood does seep.

With yours and mine, like butchered

swine's; and hell is six feet deep.

    That death awaits there's no debate;

    no triumph will we reap.

The crosses grow on Anzio, where hell is

    six feet deep.

    . . . Audie Murphy, 1948

  9. Audie Murphy died in a plane crash not far from where I live in Virginia one hell of a hero lost to a pilots error.

  10. Like the song, not so much who it's for. Americans are rather annoying, but I'll give them the win on this one.

  11. "Oh gather round me, and listen while i speak, of our war, where hell is six feet deep"
    Beautiful

  12. I was playing WT when this music came on i was using the M18 Hellcat and i decided to Flank behind the enemy lines and cause havoc then escape.

It was a great sucess and i got 11 kills. Oooorraahhh!!!!!

  13. Czech Replubic fans forever. Bohemia (Fuck Off America) Special thanks to the Czech Republic and the City of Prague.Sweden is our ally today.

  14. Oh what's this, . . . Why I am shedding some tears about a song that tells something about a time where I wasn't born into.

  15. There needs to be an extended version with an extra chorus or 2 at the end with the key change! I need more!!! It’s so good

  16. Always SABATON will be satisfied with his technique and his art of playing. It always seemed beyond his ambition and his ideal, and if he worked hard, the result inevitably filled him. However everything he created frustrated him, it always seemed to him that he could do better, "better to see"

  17. Travelled to Nettuno to see these crosses a year after I heard the song. Yeah, the cemetery is in Nettuno, not in Anzio.

  18. Just read the book "To hell and back. The song is basically a poem in the book written by Corporal Kerrigan. The part about "glory in war" was written in the dedication by Audie Murphy himself about two fellow soldiers. Just thought that was cool to hear the connection. Makes this song that much cooler. GodSpeed to the Fighting 15th

  19. You know, this song is talked about First Lieutenant Audie Murphy, who diagnosed with "post-traumatic stress disorder", after WWII.
It was a disorder about scared about to die because of horrors of WWII. He died in 1971, in a plane clash, just before he turned 46.

He was gone, but not forgotten. A soldier who is now Rest In Peace.
We will miss you, First Lieutenant Murphy.

  20. Audy Murphy will always be one of my heroes. An incredibly kind and gentle man in person but not afraid of a fight. I live not too far from where he was born and grew up during the inter-war years.

  21. The Germans was strong but without a beer 🍻 with vodka it was a cold ❄ feeling, to warm inside in a cold place! 😁
